About Liz

Hi, my name’s Liz and I live in the city of Brighton & Hove in the UK. My quest is to enjoy life as much as possible, and to help others to do the same.

I am passionate about helping people because I genuinely enjoy listening to people and empowering them to find their own solutions to life’s challenges.

Having worked in mental health and wellbeing for 14 years, studied psychology to post-graduate level, and more recently trained as a hypnotherapist, I have learnt a lot of different approaches to helping people.

I believe that in order to flourish, and to live to our true potential , it’s vital to look after ourselves physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. All of these areas are equally important, as they all interact and influence one another, feeding into our overall wellbeing. When we make our wellbeing a priority we are more resilient to stress as well as physical and mental illness. This is why I believe a holistic approach is best. It is also important to me that I practice what I preach, so whatever I recommend has been tried and tested by me.

I believe that as human beings, we really do struggle at times to do what is good for us.  It feels like we are genetically pre-disposed to enjoy the things that are not so good for us, and also struggle to motivate ourselves to do the things that help.  We are in fact biologically programmed to get into habits. Some of those habits help us – like brushing our teeth for example – but a lot of the time, the habits we so easily slip into can cause us a lot of problems.  These habits are not just things that we “do”, they can also be things that we “think”.

Our thoughts and our actions become habitual, automatic, and only when we challenge them and make an effort to change something, can we really start to feel better and see different results.

I have always really enjoyed reading about how our minds work, and what we can do to help ourselves feel better and live happier lives.  I am always on the look-out for tips and tricks, often really simple ones, that can make life more joyful and fun, or help to make life less painful during the tough times.  And through Synergy Wellbeing, I want to share those tips with you.  I can also offer you tailored support with your own psychological wellbeing through hypnotherapy or otherwise, so that you can experience a happier and more joyful life.

I can offer sessions face to face, on the telephone, or via skype, please click here if you would like to book a free initial consultation.
